Support after failed IVF

When IVF hasn’t led to pregnancy

A failed IVF cycle is more than a medical setback – it is emotionally and physically demanding. The injections, the waiting, the hope, and then the news that it didn’t work. If you have been through this once or several times, you know how much it takes out of both body and mind.

Many people who contact us describe the same feeling – they want to know whether there's more in their health worth looking at before the next step.

Couple holding each other’s hands in support

Here’s what we often hear:

We’ve been through several rounds of IVF without success.

Our embryos look good, but they never implant.

Each failed transfer feels harder than the last.

We can’t afford many more attempts.

We look at more than the IVF protocol

IVF is an advanced medical treatment focused on hormone stimulation, egg retrieval, fertilisation and embryo transfer. Our assessment has a different purpose.

In traditional Chinese medicine, we take a broader view of your health, building as full a picture as we can. We're happy to use results from earlier fertility investigations and add our own individual assessment.

An individual assessment

We ask more than 100 questions about your health, looking at things like:

  • menstruation and menstrual cycle
  • the amount and quality of bleeding
  • pain and other symptoms
  • sleep and recovery
  • energy and stress
  • digestion
  • body temperature, for example whether you often feel cold or experience feelings of heat
  • previous pregnancies and IVF treatments

Together, this helps us understand your situation and shape a treatment plan tailored to you.

Herbal formulas made for you

Herbal treatment is the cornerstone of traditional Chinese medicine.

We work with over 400 proven herbs, blended into a formula that's unique to you. Which herbs we use, and in what proportions, comes from your individual assessment and is adjusted throughout treatment as your health changes.

This means your treatment develops over time rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.

As a complement to IVF

Many of our patients choose to combine our treatment with IVF, or between IVF cycles.

Our approach doesn't replace conventional fertility care. Instead, it adds another perspective, built on a broad individual assessment and a treatment plan tailored to you, grounded in traditional Chinese medicine.

Is our treatment right for you?

Every fertility journey is different. That is why we always begin with an individual assessment, where we go through your medical history, previous treatments and current health.

This also lets us answer your questions and explain how we would approach treatment based on your particular situation.

What the science says

Our approach is backed by a growing body of peer-reviewed research.

The effectiveness of Chinese herbal medicine for fertility isn't just our clinical observation — it's supported by hundreds of peer-reviewed studies conducted to Western research standards, including randomised controlled trials and systematic reviews.

These studies have demonstrated measurable improvements in IVF outcomes when combined with herbal medicine, including better egg quality, improved endometrial receptivity, and higher pregnancy rates.

A comprehensive summary of this evidence was published in the Journal of Ovarian Research, confirming the positive role of Chinese herbal medicine in supporting fertility treatments.
